 How do I contact the Building Inspector?

The Building Inspector and Zoning Administrator is Jerry Anderson.  Office hours are Mondays from 1:30pm to 3:00pm, or he can be reached at 262-903-4221.

 When is the Clerk/Treasurer's office open?

The Clerk/Treasurer's office hours are 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Fridays 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

 Where do I register to vote?

You can register to vote in the Clerk/Treasurer/s office at 227 N. Main St. 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Fridays 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or at the polls on election day.  Please remember to bring your proof of residence and a Wisconsin issued Identification Card or WI Drivers License.  You may also register to vote at www.myvote.wi.gov.  

 How can I get an absentee ballot?

You can request an absentee ballot at the Clerk Treasurer's Office with an acceptable form of Photo ID.  Or you can request a ballot be mailed to you at myvote.wi.gov.

 Where do I vote?

The polling place for the Village of Walworth is located at Village Hall, 227 N. Main St., Walworth.

 When are recycling and garbage picked up?

The Village contracts with John's Disposal.  Garbage Collection is Tuesday of each week.  Recycling Collection is every other Tuesday.  Visit JohnsDisposal.com for the garbage and recycling schedule.  If a holiday falls on a Monday or Tuesday, collection will be delayed by one day to Wednesday.

 How do I obtain a license for my dog?

Apply for a dog license by April 1st of each year.  A license can be obtained in the Clerk/Treasurer's office at 227 N. Main 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Fridays 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  A license for a neutered or spayed dog is $14.  An unaltered dog license is $33.  Please bring your rabies vaccination certificate when applying for a license. After April 1st, a late fee will apply.

 

 Where do I pay my property taxes?

The first installment (or full payment) is made by January 31st to the Village of Walworth Treasurer in the Clerk/Treasurer's office at 227 N. Main St. between 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Fridays 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..  The second installment must be made to the County Treasurer at P.O. Box 1001, Elkhorn WI  53121 or you may pay in person at the County Treasurer's office in Elkhorn.  For mill rate or levy information, please call the Village Treasurer at 262-275-2127.

 What utility companies serve the Village?

Natural gas is provided by WE Energies, 800-242-9137.  Alliant Energy provides electricity, 800-862-6222.  Cable service is provided by Charter Communications, 800-581-0081.  Frontier provides landline telephone service, 800-921-8101 or www.frontierinternet.com.  Various other companies provide internet, phone and satellite services.
