Unpaid Parking Tickets and Suspensions

If you fail to pay a parking citation, there will be additional fines assessed.

If payment is not made within 10 days of the date of the violation, the Police Department shall mail a second notice to the registered owner of the vehicle. The penalty shall then increase to $50.00 and must be paid within 28 days of the violation.

If payment is not made or the violator fails to contest the parking citation within 28 days of the violation, the Police Department shall request the State Department of Transportation suspend the vehicle registration and deny you the privilege to register any vehicles in the State of Wisconsin.

If your vehicle registration is suspended, you will need to pay all fines and fees associated with your name at the Village of Walworth Police Department, 227 N. Main St. Please be aware that it takes approximately 7 to 10 business days for the State of Wisconsin to process a reinstatement of your registration. You are encouraged to pay parking citations in a timely manner to avoid vehicle registration suspension and the issues related to reinstatement.
